  1. Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Valour Day, also known as Shaurya Diwas is annually observed across India on 9 April to commemorate the valour of CRPF personnel during the 1965 war against the Pakistan army. 9 April, 2023 marks the observance of the 58th CRPF Valour day. 
  2. The Mircha rice variety from West Champaran district of Bihar has been awarded the GI tag.
  3. The 2nd G20 EMPOWER meeting of Ministry of Women and Child Development held in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala from 4-6 April, 2023. 
  4. New Zealand’s Kim Cotton on 5 April 2023, made history by becoming the first woman on-field umpire in a full-member men’s T20I during New Zealand’s second match against Sri Lanka in Dunedin.
  5. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has unveiled spectacular images of the Earth taken by its Earth Observation Satellite (EOS-06), also known as Oceansat-3.

  11. DBS Bank India has introduced a new investment solution called ‘digiPortfolio’, which is now available on the bank’s digibank platform.
  12. Mukesh Ambani has been named the richest sports owner in the Forbes Billionaires 2023 list, with a net worth of $83.4 billion, surpassing Steve Ballmer, the owner of the Los Angeles Clippers, whose net worth is $80.7 billion.
  13. Brazilian artist Dante Akira Uwai has won the Winter Youth Olympic Games Gangwon 2024 medal design competition.
  14. IIT Kanpur, one of India’s premier institutes of technology hosted the Youth20 Consultation under the G20 Presidency of India from 5-6 April, 2023. The event brought together over 1200 youth delegates from India and abroad to discuss innovative solutions to pressing global concerns.
  15. Paris on 2 April, 2023 voted to ban electric-scooters on its streets.
  16. On 3 April 2023, Extended Range Anti Submarine Rocket (ER-ASR) designed by two Pune (Maharashtra)-based facilities of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) were successfully test-fired for the first time from the Indian Naval Ship (INS) Chennai.
